Description:

Dillon Beach is a tiny coastal town at the end of the road in Northern Marin, and is a destination for folks wanting to go to the edge of somewhere to just relax.  To get there you can take the straight route by heading west through the jangling outskirts of Petaluma, passing through a vast farmland, or you can take the meandering route along Highway 1 and Bodega Bay, where you will be tempted to stop multiple times for Oysters, tiny towns, and mercantile shops.

Dillon Beach Resort is a restaurant/lodge/grocery store that recently received a tidying up.  While the gleaming white paint and the new rental "tiny homes" may feel out of place now, give the ocean air a few years, and all will blend together once again into the charming collection of sun and wind weathered patchwork of beach homes.

Coastal Kitchen uses local produce, meats, and dairy, and Equator coffee.  The menu changes weekly to reflect available ingredients.  The dining room has a canvas tent roof, which adds to the experience of being out on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, providing refuge on a cold day from the ocean wind, or a picnic feeling indoors on a sunny hot day.  You can lower yourself with a chain down to the side of the bluff for easy access to the beach.
